Residents can view Koombana North Precinct’s structure plan and a model which shows possible urban development on the site.

City of Bunbury strategic integration director Geoff Klem said he was excited to show the public what Koombana North could look like.

“Although there has been public support for urban development on the land adjoining the ski beach, the finer detail of how development should proceed now needs to be reviewed,” he said.

Mr Klem said he had invested his time and energy into the waterfront for more than 20 years.

The model of Koombana North shows five development sites which would be used for commercial, office and residential use.

“I want it to be iconic and an entry statement to the city,” he said.

“We need to claim our second city status.”

He said there would be room for a tavern and a bar on the site which would boost the social vitality of the city.

People can view the model at the City of Bunbury chambers and submit their comments until December 18.

The forward works proposal includes the construction of a sea wall, infrastructure and landscaping works which needs to be completed before urban development.

The forward works submissions closes on November 21.
